Nightmare on Edgewood is a haunted attraction that runs from late September to early November. Entering our 43rd season in 2021, Nightmare on Edgewood is one of Indy’s longest running haunted houses. Our hands-on, full-contact experience is what sets us apart from other attractions and has earned us our reputation as Indy’s most intense haunted house.
We are seeking a Social Media Intern to assist our Marketing Director who is based remotely in Denver, CO. The primary function of this internship will be to capture and create live social media content from inside and outside the haunted house during operation hours (Fridays, Saturdays and some Thursdays). Secondary functions include social media marketing and graphic design.
Be at the haunted house every night that it’s open. Call time is 6 PM. Release time will vary between 9 and 11 PM.
Create and establish Nightmare on Edgewood’s Tik Tok & Snapchat presence from scratch.
Publish new content on all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Twitter) during hours of operation for the entire season.
Plan social media promotional campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing Director, then write copy, create graphics and schedule posts for review.
Qualifications & Experience
Genuine interest in horror and scary entertainment. You will be regularly interacting with our creepy cast while they are in costume and makeup in their scenes inside the haunted house. For the ideal candidate, this should sound like a fun creative outlet with endless sources of inspiration.
Can provide self-direction. The Marketing Director is based in Denver, CO and therefore will not be on-site to provide direct supervision and guidance. The Marketing Director will be available during hours of operation via phone, text and Slack as needed, but the ideal candidate should be comfortable making creative decisions on the spot.
A master of your chosen social platforms. The ideal candidate should be excited to show off their favorite posts of all time, or eager to discuss their favorite features of the platform(s) they love.
A marketing-minded creative. Our ultimate goal is to sell tickets, but just as important is building a brand. The ideal candidate will know how to balance purely promotional content and strong calls to action with entertaining content that keeps Nightmare on Edgewood top of mind throughout the entire spooky season.
